The Art Gallery of
Old Datça
Maison Magi is a vibrant hub where art and culture come together through exhibitions, workshops, and an Artist Residency, set against the historic texture and citrus gardens of Eski Datça.
Maison Magi is a distinguished meeting point for art and culture, where thoughtfully curated exhibitions, inspiring workshops, and a boutique artist residency program come together to foster creativity and dialogue. Nestled within a fragrant citrus grove, this space brings together contemporary artistic practices and time-honored techniques, celebrating both tradition and innovation.
Let fish be under what is given, and let them multiply in it. Let each one be upon the earth, and let great creatures multiply, and let them be given. Let the seas full of seasons be fruitful with animals in the evening, and let darkness prevail therein. In the midst of them, among those gathered, let there be those who bear fruit and those without animals. Let the spirit of life fill the firmament, and let those who move be seen; that is good. Let images appear upon the waters at evening, and let them be there in their given forms without flesh.
'ECOSOPHY TRILOGY'
'Ecosophy Trilogy' The relationship between humans and nature can be read neither as an innocent coexistence nor as a simple opposition. This relationship has undergone a profound transformation and has become articulated from the moment we began to witness the changing state of human nature. The "Ecosophy Trilogy," which lends its name to the exhibition, treats this transformation not merely as an environmental crisis, but simultaneously as a mental, social, and existential rupture. Focusing on the concept of ecosophy developed by theorist Félix Guattari, the exhibition points to the inseparable integrity of environmental, social, and mental ecologies. In response to anthropocentric perception, it questions the boundaries between humans and other life forms, making visible how subjective productions are intertwined with the ecological crisis. Defined within the contexts of society, environment, and mind, ecosophy appears in the works of the three artists in the exhibition not as fixed categories, but as overlapping and transforming fields. The relationships the subject establishes with other life forms emerge as references specific to their field of sensibility. Ecosophy, where the three inseparable categories of ecology are conceptualized, transforms into reflections of the processes integrated into the artists' experiences. While inviting the viewer to become a part of these processes, the exhibition proposes a possibility for how ecological issues can manifest as forms within artistic productions.
